The morning after your arrival, you’ll be served breakfast between 7:30-8:30 and you’ll have a meet and greet with your guides and drivers and board our all-terrain vehicles. You will head towards “Tjentiste” and over the pass of “Cemerno” where you will be taken on a scenic drive to the locality of “Papin” which is our rest point prior to climbing the highest peak of “Volujak” mountain called “Velike Vlasulje”. This is the second tallest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina after “Maglic” mountain which you will climb the following day.

In a three-hour hiking tour from the Pope’s Valley to the highest peak of Volujak we pass by the “Govedak” fresh water spring and the peak “Kuk”. Since it is a clean and natural source of water, you have a chance to stop and fill our bottles. The Volujak Massif has about a dozen peaks above the height of 2000 meters. These are crowned with large amounts of slow in the early summer, and the contrast of snow and green pastures which rise to beyond 1600 meters will allow you to create professional nature photographs.

At the very top we will have the opportunity to enjoy views of the largest peaks of the Mountains “Maglic”, “Bioc”, “Trzivka” and particularly “Trnovacki Durmitor” which is our next stop on the way to “Trnovacko Lake”. When the weather is clear, the view extends all the way to the Olympic mountains of “Bjelasnica” and “Jahorina”.

After a short break, our route heads towards “Trnovacki Durmitor”, where we will organize a lunch break in natural surroundings. You will feed your stomach but feast your eyes, thanks to the amazing view of the heart shaped “Trnovacko Lake”, which is faithfully guarded on all sides by the peaks of Maglić, Volujak and Bioč. This view is truly breathtaking.

From “Trnovački Durmitor” follows the descent through the “Bojan Gate” and “Rudin Katun” all the way to “Trnovacko Lake”. Immediately upon arrival, we will erect tents by 18:00 and form a small camp where we will prepare dinner and spend the night under the stars.

After breakfast and packing up, you will climb the ascent to the highest peak of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Maglić mountain. Planned departure time for the hike is 8:00.

From Trnovacko Lake, the ascent starts through woodland. You will reach the clearing and treeline rather quickly and continue the ascent along a path leading to the ridge of the mountain. Following the ridge you walk through grassy and flower covered pastures, where the trail leads us to Montenegrin Maglic, which is two meters higher than the peak on the Bosnian side. The summit is dominated by views of the imposing peaks of Bregoč, Trnovac Durmitor, Volujak, and in clear weather the distant peaks of Durmitor.

Since it will take approximately three hours to climb Maglic from Trnovacko Lake, we will use this phenomenal vantage point to have lunch on the top of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We will return to the Trnovacko Lake along the same path, and then on to the Prijevor Plateau, where vehicles will be waiting for us to return to the hotel, on our route we will pass through the valley of “Suva Jezerina”, which will be a 2 hours walk from Trnovacko Lake.

Before returning to the hotel for dinner and lodging, around 17:00, you will descend from the “Prijevor Plateau” towards “Tjentiste”, more precisely “The Valley of Heroes” where you will have a guided tour of the national monument commemorating the fallen soldiers of the “Battle of Sutjeska”, an integral battle against the Nazi forces in WWII.
