Maglic

Maglic is a Dinaric mountain on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Maglic is the tallest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina whose peak by the same name towers at 2,386 meters above sea level. Though it is the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the mountain also has a second, taller peak called Veliki Vitao (2,396 meters above sea level) located in Montenegro. Up to 1,600 meters above sea level, Maglic is covered with beech and coniferous forest, while beyond that it is covered in pastures. Since the top of the Maglic is often covered by fog, it is believed that this is the origin of the mountain’s name, which translates loosely to “Misty Mountain”.
