Maglic Mountain

Maglić is a Dinaric mountain on the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Maglić is the highest mountain in Bosnia and Herzegovina whose peak by the same name is at 2386 meters above sea level, while the highest mountain peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs to this mountain, it also has a second, taller peak called Veliki Vitao (2396 meters above sea level) located in Montenegro. Up to 1600 m above sea level, Maglic is covered with beech and coniferous forest, while beyond that height it is covered in pastures. Since the top of the Maglic is often covered by fog, it is believed that this is the origin of the mountain’s name which translates loosely to “Misty Mountain”.
